Analysis of the experience in the MERIT-HF study

Beta-blockers have become established first-line therapy for a broad spectrum of patients with heart failure due to left ventricular dysfunction.

In order to further increase the understanding of the benefit and safety of beta-blockers in patients with severe heart failure, a post-hoc subgroup analysis of patients enrolled in the MERIT-HF study in NYHA class III/IV with ejection fraction of less than 0.25 was carried out.

The results from this subgroup analysis in MERIT-HF and a comparison with the COPERNICUS trial are presented in the slides and slide notes on this downloadable slide kit. These data are intended as a resource to use for educational purposes in the discussion of treatment with beta-blockers in heart failure.
